Agnieszka “Agnes” Mlochowski-Norton, 47, of Amarillo died Wednesday, November 4, 2009. Memorial Services will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, November 9, 2009 at Hillside Christian Church, 6100 South Soncy with Judy Stallwitz, Adult Ministries Leader, and Rev. Bob Schroeder, Executive Pastor officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Agnes was born in Lodz, Poland on May 12, 1962. She was raised in Poznan where she graduated with a Law Degree from Adam Mickiewicz University in 1986. In 1987she left Poland for a new life in the USA. Agnes settled in California, where she met Greg Norton and married him August, 1990. After the birth of their son Jerzy, the family moved to Amarillo in 1995 where Agnes lived until her death. Throughout her residence in Amarillo, Agnes was a successful business owner of several restaurants such as, Brothers Pizza, El Ray’s, Carolina’s Restaurant, and “Some Like it Hot” Catering. Agnes was very involved in her community as well by participating in Big Brothers-Big Sisters, March of Dimes, Junior League of Amarillo, and Amarillo ISD.
Agnes Norton has been a beloved Mother, Wife, Friend, Boss, and Aunt. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, and traveling. Her life was centered around her son and family. She had a contagious laughter and vibrant personality and will be missed by many. She touched many lives with her big heart and kindness.
She passed away on the evening of November 4th after a long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Jerzy Mlochowski.
Survivors include her Mother, Anna Mlochwski; son, Jerzy Norton; and his Father Greg Norton; Carroline Norton, Jack and Linda Norton, and many friends.
