Alan Hall Brown, 61, died May 12, 2010. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 17, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Caprock Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Foster officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home. Alan was born on July 21, 1948 in Arkansas City, Kansas to Donald J. and Hilda Hall Brown. He grew up in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1966. Alan attended Texas Tech University and South Plains College. He then went on to work in the Signal Department of BNSF Railway for over 35 years. Over the years the railway took him to several cities including Amarillo, TX, Woodward, OK and Torrington, WY but it brought him back to Amarillo, where he retired in 2008. Alan’s favorite hobby was scuba diving and he traveled many times to the Caribbean where he could enjoy the sea. Alan was a member of Caprock Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Hilda Brown. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Phillis; his sons, Charles Brown and wife, Stefanie of Oklahoma City and Jacob Brown of Amarillo; his brother, Bill Brown of Denver, CO; his sister, Donna Dauner and husband, Dan Dauner of Fort Collins, CO.
