Albert E. Hall, 88, of Amarillo died Sunday, May 2, 2021.
Visitation will be from 7-8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 7, 2021 at Bolton St. Baptist Church, 2555 S. Bolton St. Interment will follow at 3:30 in Dalhart Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.
Albert was born November 4, 1932 in Dalhart, TX to Frank and Opal Hall. He graduated from Dalhart High School in 1952 then married Emma Louise Helms on October 23, 1952 in Clayton, NM. Albert served in the United States Army for 2 years going thru bootcamp in Alabama and transferred to Georgia then to California. After his service, Albert and Louise returned to Amarillo, TX where he entered Radio and TV School and worked as TV repairman. He also worked for the Amarillo Fire Department and was a District Manager at Amarillo Globe News for 17 years. Albert then worked as a rural mail carrier with the US Postal Service where he retired after 30 years of service.
Albert was very talented and played the mandolin, guitar, harmonica and electronic saxophone. He was affectionately known as Pooshaw, Pa and Grandpa to name a few by his loving grand children and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lisa Diane Helton in 2016; sister, Julia Stewart in 2016; mother in law, Margaret P. Cobb in 2016; and grandson William Todd McGuire in 1990.
Albert is survived by his wife, Louise; daughters, Beckie Pinckard (Mitchell) of Tool, TX and Beverly Knox of Amarillo, TX; son, Gary Hall (Laurie) of Amarillo, TX; 7 grandchildren, Michael, Aaron, Stephanie, Clayton, Brooke, Beth and Alicia; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Amarillo Fire Department, Amarillo Police Department and Emergency Medical Team (EMT) for their assistance with Albert. Memorial contributions can be made in Alberts name to Bolton St. Baptist Church, 2555 S. Bolton St., Amarillo, TX 79103.
