Lee Wanderscheid, 82, of Amarillo died June 17, 2013.
Memorial Services will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, June 21, 2013 in Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Blum officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Lee Wanderscheid was born February 24, 1931 in Weldon, IL to Charles and Mossie Peters. She married the love of her life, Dale, on February 3, 1951 at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoule, IL.
Lee was an avid reader. Her daughters always referred to her as the family dictionary. Lee was also a very talented seamstress.
Family was always most important to Lee, and she loved spending time with all of them. Her grandchildren say that she was a one-of-a-kind, or not your average grandma. She loved and cherished her grandchildren dearly.
Lee enjoyed cribbage and any other card game that could be played. Lee was outspoken, but very generous, and loved the Dallas Cowboys, Country music, and being by the water.
Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Dale in 2001.
She is survived by her daughters, Jo Beth Hill and husband Randy, and Lyn Anderson and husband Steven; her brothers, Marion Peters and wife, Nancy of Amarillo and Phil Peters and wife Sandy of Las Vegas, NV; and her grandchildren, Ryan Hill and wife Vanessa, Charlie Hill, Chase Hill and fiancé Vanessa Lockhart, Brent Hill and wife Amanda, Sarah Bennett and husband John, Kristi VanWinkle and husband Sheldyn, Kasey Anderson, and Kolton Anderson; and her first great-grandson due next month along with many nieces and nephews.
