Alfred Anthony Kremer

Alfred A. Kremer, age 79 of Amarillo died March 9, 2012 in Amarillo.

Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 14 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.   Msgr. Joseph Tash will officiate.  Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Service arrangements are entrusted to Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.

Mr. Kremer was born in Jesup, Iowa on May 21, 1932 to Matthew and Matilda Kremer.  He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp during Korea and was awarded the Purple Heart among many additional service medals.

Mr. Kremer married Helen Brister on August 9, 1986 in Amarillo at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.  He spent his life in the Agriculture Industry as a farmer.  He was a member of St. Thomas and the Knights of Columbus. The family wishes to express their appreciation to BSA Hospice for the care provided to both Alfred and the entire family.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gracie Morrissey; his sisters, Marie Soteros, Agnes Meisch-Helmers, Matilda Temeyer and Rose Buhrow; and a brother Joseph Kremer.

Mr. Kremer  is lovingly survived by his wife, Helen; his daughters, Linda Rousser and her husband Cleve of Amarillo, Victoria Kremer of Atlanta, GA, and Cynthia Case and her husband Greg of Aliso Viejo, CA; his sons, Tony Kremer and his wife Dian of Independence, IA, Roger Kremer of Independence, IA, Patrick Kremer and his wife Linda of Palmdale, CA and Michael Brister and his wife Ellen of Amarillo; his  seventeen grandchildren, his eleven great-grandchildren; his sisters, Margaret Kraus of Jesup, IA, Rita Kies of Jesup, IA, Lucille Toal and her husband Jack of Tucson, TX and Theresa Serafini of Los Gatos, CA; his sister in law Ellen Kremer of Jesup, IA his brothers, Matthew Kremer and his wife Joyce of Garrison, IA; Robert Kremer and his wife Ruth of Corona, CA; and a brother in law Paul Buhrow of Texas; and a niece Christina Hartman.
