Alicia Niemeier

Alicia Niemeier, age 79, passed away on November 19, 2020.

Alicia was born on September 16, 1941 in Clayton, New Mexico to Temple Abney and Pauline
Beatty Abney. She graduated from Texline High School and earned a Master of Education from
West Texas State University, where she was also a member of Alpha Delta PHI Sorority. Alicia
married her best friend and love of her life James Michael Niemeier on July 2, 1972, in Texline.
They were married for 24 years until his death. She taught elementary school in Dalhart and
Canyon for 24 years and worked for ECI in Amarillo and Fredericksburg for several years. Alicia
was a faithful member of St. Stephens United Methodist Church and loved her Church family
dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Michael and a brother James Talmage
Abney.
Alicia is survived by a sister, Margaret Lynn Detten of Seminole, a brother Temple Abney and
wife Karen of Hereford: Many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews whom
she loved dearly.
A family grave side service is pending.
