A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the Claude United Methodist Church on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Don Minkley will officiate. Private graveside services were held at the Claude Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Stella Allean Goodin Patterson was born in Armstrong County in the Fairview Community on June 17, 1941 to Shorty and Lucille Goodin. She attended Claude schools and graduated with the best class ever in 1959. On June 7, 1963, Allean married her best friend and high school sweetheart, Ronald Dean Patterson. They would build a life together that would grow to include two beautiful daughters that would continue to last the next forty nine years, four months and 3 days until Ronald was called home in 2012.
Allean could be described as a caregiver. She had a servant’s heart and a desire to care for her husband and family. In fact, in her own words, “she lived her life for her husband and girls.” She had a huge heart and worked sacrificially for her family. She was a devoted and proud farmer’s wife. She drove tractors, trucks, helped with the pigs and cows and loved every minute. She was a great cook and just an all-around hard worker. Later in life when the grandkids arrived, her heart was overjoyed and they became the light of her life.
Allean loved her Lord and Savior and was a huge believer in the power of prayer. That belief helped her overcome breast cancer and she has been a survivor since 2004.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, Clyde; her brother Darrell Goodin; and her beloved husband Ronald.
She is survived by her two daughters, Tracy Schott and her husband Clay of Claude, Texas and Kim Keys and her husband Stevan of New Home, Texas; her brother, Gail Goodin and his wife Mert of Claude, Texas; her sister-in-law Janice Goodin of Amarillo, Texas; by her five precious grandchildren, Cole Schott of Boise, Idaho, Cheyann Schott of Amarillo, Texas, Lynzee Keys of Wichita Falls, Texas, Spencer Keys and Colt Keys of New Home, Texas; and by many loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Brooke at Enhabit Hospice, Brenda, Elizabeth, and Nora at Comfort Care for how they cared for Allean.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the Claude United Methodist Church or the Clause Cemetery Association.
