Allen Monroe was born Nov. 18, 1930, in Worcester, Mass., to Julia Lauzier and John Paul Percie Monroe. The delights of his heart are his wife Mary Jo, flying, education and his children and grandchildren. He was one of the silent great men, bearing great pain with fortitude and humor.
Allen was a true brother to his Peters relatives including Frank and Mary Kay Peters; Susan and Fred Bubeck of Sugar Land; Danny and Pam Peters of Amarillo; Terry and Gerri Peters and Mark and Linda Peters, all of San Antonio; Rick Peters of San Diego; Judy and Cliff Swirczynski of Dallas; and brother Delbert Monroe of Worcester.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two half brothers; a half sister and a sister, Delia “Dee” Siminovich and husband Richard.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Mary Jo Peters Monroe; a brother, Delbert C. Monroe and wife Marie of Worcester; three sons, John Monroe and wife Laura of Keene, N.Y., Joseph Monroe and wife Donna and James Monroe and wife Amy, all of Amarillo; three daughters, Ann Marie Monroe of Amarillo, Mary Margaret Monroe of Dallas and Michelle Gutierrez and husband Michael of Katy; and his grandchildren, Andrew, Matt, Bethany and Morgan Monroe, Anna and Emily Monroe and Reaghan and Sloane Gutierrez.
