A visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2101 N. Coulter. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Bishop Barton will officiate. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.Alta Maxine Jones Woods Hildreth was born in Dustin, OK on February 9, 1925 to Hiram H. Jones and Ether Black Jones. She spent most of her growing up years in Bearden and Okemah, OK. She moved to Borger, TX in 1946 and to Amarillo in 1965. She also lived a number of years in Fairview, OK on Wayne’s family farm until he passed away in 1990 when she moved back to Amarillo in 1990.In Borger, Maxine served as secretary of Bunavista Elementary School and then to the curriculum director of the Borger schools. She also worked in Amarillo for several years at Northwest Texas Hospital in the administrative offices.Maxine was a very faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since 1959. She served in many capacities throughout her membership in the church. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends who loved her so very much.She is preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters, Vera, Gwendolyn and Lucille; 2 brothers, Bethel and Basil; her first husband, Bill Woods and her second husband, Wayne Hildreth.She is survived by her 3 daughters and their husbands, Karen and Allan Rigaud of Richmond, TX, and children Mitchell Majors, Paula Fulton and Jaclyn Quave; Karla and David Parker of Borger and children, Audra Miller, Misty Deeds and Jana Franscell; Jenny Sue and Dick Bishop of Amarillo and children Danielle Walker, Doug Bishop and Danha Shirling; 1 stepson, Tommy Hildreth and wife Vicki of Lafayette, CO and their children Mathew and Christopher and his wife Codi who are expecting a child in August. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-granddaughter expected any day. She was affectionately known to her grandchildren as Gigi.
