Amy Nicole Clark R.N.

October 9, 1976 — January 19, 2011

Amy was born in Plainview, Texas to Kevin and Kathy Whisenant on October 9, 1976. She graduated from Plainview high school in 1994, and continued her education at West Texas A & M University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2001. She married Kory Clark in May of 1999 together they had one daughter Avery Grace.  Amy had a passion and zest for life that was unmatched and became a registered nurse because of her unbridled will to help others.  From 2001-2008, she worked as a nurse primarily in the emergency room, and during the end of her career as a charge nurse in the emergency room at BSA in Amarillo.  She thrived on the *excitement* of the emergency room setting and was always at her best in times of crisis.  During her career in the emergency room, there have been countless accounts of her ability to comfort families in their times of need and her ability to *step up* when her patients and teammates needed her the most. Not only did Amy have a strong will to help others while she was working as a registered nurse, but this carried over to her everyday life.  Just as she was at her best at work in times of crisis, she was also there for friends in family in the times of need.  Whether it was taking food to someone who was sick or injured, babysitting children or pets or actually caring for a sick friend when she left her day job, Amy was always there for others.  She chose to be a Life gift donor so that she could continue to help others.Amy was a loving wife, mother, daughter, granddaughter, and aunt.  She loved traveling, animals and spending time with her family.  The way in which she lived her life should serve as a wonderful example for others to follow.  All that came into contact with her will miss her.    Preceded in death by an uncle, Randall Whisenant, father in law, Kelton Clark; great grandparents, Jack and Lorene Ellis, and Frantz, and Ellowee Pannell.Survived by, her husband Kory Clark, daughter Avery Grace Clark of Amarillo;her parents, Kevin and Kathy Whisenant of Plainview, Texas; mother in-law, Lena Clark of Snyder, Texas; grandparents, Billy and Kay Todd of Plainview, Texas; grandparents, Al and Shirlene Juno of Lubbock, Texas; brother in-law, Jay Markham and  wife, Christi of Graham, Texas; niece and nephew, Chandler and Leslie Markham of Graham, Texas; aunt, Francyne Underwood, and husband, Sid of San Antonio, Texas; aunt, Lisa Fisher, of Seattle, Washington; a uncle, Dr Steve Whisenant of College Station.
