A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2010, at Brentwood Chapel, Schooler Funeral Home. Rev. Shayne Raulston of My Father’s House will officiate.Andrea Carolyn Duke Freeman was born on July 22, 1942, and went to be with our Lord on Friday, March 26, 2010. She was preceded in death by her father Richard Duke, her mother, Lecia Mae Gray, and her sister Luella Jean Walker. She is survived by her husband of more than 50 years, William Ross Freeman, Sr. and her brother, Blanton Nash and his wife, Glenda. To the union of Andrea and William, five children were born: Felicia Pier (Columbus), Stephanie Winters (Chet), Theola Woods, William R. Freeman, Jr., and Myron Freeman. Included with her children, left to mourn are a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Though she was born in Watonga Oklahoma, she spent the vast majority of her life in Amarillo, where among many things she enjoyed gardening, watching televised sports and spending time with her family. Her words and laughter will be sorely missed as will the wisdom that she always seemed to be able to convey to her family. Every moment of her life was filled with thoughts about what she could do to make her family better and happier. Near the end of her journey, she was laughing and telling stories about her life and reliving shared moments with her family members. Her resolve and strength were impenetrable as she faced the challenges of her illness. In her final moments, she knew that she was loved. Without question, she will be deeply missed by her family and others but there is celebration because she’s in a better place.
