Ann Elizabeth Meyer

January 23, 1935 — January 5, 2013

Ann Meyer 77, of Amarillo died Saturday, January 12, 2013 after a brave 15 year
battle with cancer. During this time she inspired and counseled others who were
facing similar challenges.
A Rosary service will be conducted Tuesday, January 15, 7:00 p.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, January 16, 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.  Rev. Daniel Dreher and Rev. Scott Raef will concelebrate. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. at the Rest Lawn Cemetery in Hereford.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia Street.
Ann was born January 23, 1935 in Hereford, TX to Frank V. and Frances Heiselman
Zinser.
Ann spent most of her childhood in northern Idaho and in Arkansas before
returning to Hereford where she married Donald Meyer on June 21, 1958.
She was very active in the Hereford community where she was instrumental in the
establishment of Hospice in Hereford. She was also active in many community and
church activities. Ann's avocations were singing in the choir, traveling and playing
cards.
Ann will be remembered by family and friends as a person who truly cared for
others. Her ever-present smile will be forever cherished. Her love of family and
especially her grandchildren was a driving force in her life.
Survivors include her husband Donald Meyer, two sons, Robert (Bob) Meyer and
wife Colleen of Canyon, John Meyer and wife Jodi of Canyon, two daughters Donna
Goodwin and husband Jeff of Fort Collins, CO, and Paula Bearden and husband Troy
of League City, TX; four brothers Paul Zinser of Morrilton, AR, Joe Zinser of Conway,
AR, Gene Zinser of Hereford, Dick Zinser of Amarillo, and one sister Judy Detten of
Hereford; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother Frank
Zinser, Jr. of and one sister Hope Loerwald, both of Hereford.
The family suggests memorials to be made to BSA Hospice, 600 N Tyler, Amarillo, TX
79107.
