Ann Standifer Pharr, 82, of Amarillo, died Thursday, July 17, 2016.
Memorial Services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Stephens as officiant. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.
Mrs. Pharr died Sunday July 17, 2016. Her body is donated to Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She was born July 2, 1934 in Junction, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Lilburn Standifer of Lamesa. She graduated from Lamesa High, attended Stephens College in Missouri, Texas Tech University and graduated from Wayland Baptist College in Plainview with a B.A. in Business Administration. She attended West Texas A & M graduate school. She married Marshall Pharr June 17, 1955 in Lamesa.
Mrs. Pharr was active as a Girl Scout leader with Caprock Girl Scout Council was a Cub Scout leader in Plainview and a leader of Girl Scout Air Cadets in Morocco, North Africa. She taught business classes for Regional Occupational Center in Plainview, affiliated with South Plains College. Many students benefited from her as a swimming instructor as a Water Safety instructor. She was a member of Tascosa Country Club and the Ladies Golf Association. She was owner of Manda Ltd. Jewelry and a volunteer with Panhandle Plains Historical Museum, serving as chairman of Installation Committee. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and P.E.O. chapter GP. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and Friendship Sunday School Class.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Mrs. Pharr is survived by a son Mark Pharr and wife, Dee of Round Rock; three daughters, Terri Gill, of Canyon, Denise Lauferswiller of Amarillo, and Angela Pharr of Perryton; thirteen grandchildren, Beau and Rhett Bigham, Willie and Caleb Gill, Marshall and Tamra Lauferswiller, Danielle Lauferswiller Skaggs, Chase, Sheldon, Savannah, and Phoenix Pharr, Hannah and Hailey Bennett; five great grandchildren, Brecken and Tate Lauferswiller, Abel and Luke Skaggs, and one on the way.
