Annette Marie Galitski

Annette Marie Galitski, 75, died Thursday, June 5, 2014.
A Rosary will be said on Sunday afternoon, June 8, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel.   A Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Monday, June 9th with the Rev. John Valdez officiating.  Funeral arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 Georgia Street, Amarillo, TX.
Annette Galitski was born on September 22, 1938 in Atlas, PA to John and Leona Blazina.  She was a 1956 graduate of Mt. Carmel Catholic High School, Mt. Carmel, PA.  She married Frank R. Galitski on October 3, 1958 in Atlas, PA.  She enjoyed a short professional career working however; her real passion was for her family and travel.  She was a lifelong homemaker raising three children.   She was a devoted wife of fifty-five years; mother and grandmother who always made sure her family came first. She had a great love for and spent many hours cooking for family and friends.
She and her husband Frank traveled the world booking passage on the Queen Mary II making multiple trans-Atlantic trips to Europe.  Just a few of the European countries they visited included Great Britain, Germany, Spain, France, Portugal, Austria, Greece and Italy.  They saw such historical sites as Stonehenge, the Roman Coliseum, the Vatican, the Fatima Shrine and the Acropolis.   Other cruises and trips took them to such faraway places as China, Australia, New Zealand and a thirty day boat trip up the Amazon River.  They also made visits to Easter Island, the Galapagos Islands and sailing thru the Panama Canal.   They lived abroad for several years in Tehran, Iran and Chinhae, South Korea.
Annette was an avid reader and was a great fan of the Pittsburg Steelers.  Her greatest love however; was being “Mam Mam” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved the Lord and was a member of Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Leona Blazina and her three brothers, Joseph, Bernard and Edmund.  Survivors include her husband, Frank R. Galitski of Amarillo, TX; a son Frank V. Galitski of Austin; TX, daughter, Linda Roberts, Canyon, TX; son John Galitski, Berthoud, CO; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Pat and Henry Fadrowski of Mt. Carmel, PA along with eight grandchildren who she loved very much, Daniel, Gina, Steven, Anna, Jarrott, Chelsea, Russell and Dakota and two great grandchildren Tayton and Zander.  Her grandchildren served as honorary pallbearers.
