Mr. Anthony M. Danile passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at his home.
Rosary will be said on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 6:45 P.M. and a vigil will follow at 7:00P.M. at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 20, 2014 in St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral with Rev. Scott Raef as celebrant. Interment will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Mr. Danile was born April 21, 1919 in Glenshaw, PA. He lived in Sharpsburg, PA where he worked in the Steel Mills until he was drafted into the Army Air Corps in WWII. He served in the Philippines until he was discharged in 1946.
Anthony was a master carpenter and was a member of the carpenters union for 65 years. He worked for the last 20 years of his career with Page and Wertz Construction. He has left a foot print all across Amarillo and surrounding areas. Anthony built his home that he lived in for 68 years. After retiring he enjoyed wood working and painting.
Mr. Danile always had a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face. Anthony always had a positive attitude and loved opening his home to entertain. He never met a stranger. Anthony was a loyal friend who touched many lives and was always first to offer help. He loved his family unconditionally and enjoyed family gatherings. Mr. Danile was a long time member of St. Laurence Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Edith Dalton Danile, 8 years ago after 63 years of marriage. He was also preceded by his parents, Joseph and Angela Danile, his brothers, Emanuel, Henry, Felix, and Gregory, and his sisters, Flora, Catherine, and Katherine.
He is survived by a son, Wayland Danile and wife Barbara and a daughter Cheryl Mullen and husband Don all of Amarillo. He was blessed by 9 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. He also is survived by 2 siblings, Rose Danile and Sam Danile both of Pittsburg, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Olivia’s Angels c/o BSA Hospice.
