Arnold E Miller

Arnold Earl Miller age 84 of Amarillo died Thursday July 28, 2011.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday July 30, 2011 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church with The Reverend Robert D. Taliaferro Officiating. Private family Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.

The family will receive friends in the Funeral Home from 6 to 7:30 Friday July 29, 2011.

Arnold was born in Alton, Illinois to Earl Henry Miller and Eleanor Denison Miller on June 5, 1927. He graduated from Alton High school in 1945 and attended Washington University in St. Louis, MO.  He started working in the automobile business in 1941 part time and after school; he began selling vehicles in 1947 in Alton, then in St. Louis for a Ford Dealership. He relocated to Dallas, TX in 1952 for the same dealership. He then moved to Amarillo in 1961 and worked for Plains Chevrolet for eight years before moving to Oklahoma City. He moved back to Amarillo in 1976 and worked for Plains Chevrolet until his retirement and then started his own small business M&H Motors on 6th Street.    He married Priscilla King on June 10, 1946 she passed away November 24, 1983. He married Verneece Reid November 9, 2000 in Amarillo. He assisted in scouting Cub Masters for several years then was assistant scout Masters for four more years at St. Peter’s.  He was active in Khiva Shrine in the masters cycle Escort for several years.

Preceded in death by his parents;

Survivors include his wife, Verneece Miller; sons, John Miller of North Saint Paul, Minnesota, and Mike Miller of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jim Nelson of Amarillo; daughters, Patricia Klienke of Maplewood, MN, and Sherry Naylor of Amarillo; brother, Jack Miller of Zionsville, Indiana; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials are to be made in Arnold’s memory, to St Peter’s Episcopal Church, 4714 NW 4th Amarillo, Texas 79106.
