A prayer vigil will be held Friday, March 11, 2011 at 6:00 PM at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Canyon with Rev. Phu Phan officiating.Arrangements are made by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia, Amarillo, TX 79110.Arnold was born in Wichita, Kansas to Martin and Christine Nussbaum. He graduated from Price College in Amarillo. After graduation he served in the United States Navy during WWII. Upon returning from the war, he went into business with his father and brother and later became president of Amarillo Bus Company. He was also was a partner in the family business A-Z Tire and Battery Company. He married Byrlea Schwaller on September 6, 1949 in Amarillo. In 1974 he founded Casters of Amarillo which he co operated with his wife.Arnold was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and Ambucs. He was preceded in death by his wife, Byrlea on October 3, 2007; by one brother and two sisters. He is survived by his three daughters, Carol Ann Nussbaum of Amarillo, Karen Lea Hicks of Amarillo, Emily Sue Meier and husband Robert of Montesano, WA; one son, Daniel Joseph Nussbaum of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren Emily Rebecca Johnson and husband Warren of Lubbock, Robert James Rowntree III and his wife Meagan of San Antonio, Chad Alan Suhr of Chicago, IL, Jared Lee Suhr of Amarillo, Daniel Robert Meier of Seattle, WA, Ryan Donald Meier of Pullman, WA and Julia LeeAnn Meier of Montesano, WA.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch,600 West 11th Amarillo, Texas 79101 in memory of Arnold Nussbaum
