Arthur Wayne Fields, 78, died July 16, 2012 at BSA Hospice surrounded by family.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Kingswood Methodist Church, 4801 S Austin, Amarillo. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Art was born July 3, 1934 to Henry and Norma Fields. After serving Amarillo and Potter County in law enforcement for more than 20 years, he began a 40 year career as an independent businessman.
Arthur was a lifelong resident of Amarillo, actively involved in the community as a Master Mason, Big Brother, and Kids, Incorporated, where he served as a board member and coach.
He is survived by four children: Virginia Slutz, Cherry Fields, Rodney Fields and Teresa Bell; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kids, Incorporated Trust, 2201 East 27th, Amarillo, TX 79103.
