Arthur Banard Hood

Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 2:00 P.M. at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel.  The burial will be at Memory Garden Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.Nard was born July 29, 1938 to James Arthur and Eunice Maxwell Hood in central Texas.Nard married the love of his life, Gloria Perry in Irving, TX on July 25, 1964.  After graduating high school he went to work for Central Freight Lines for over ten years before taking a management position with A-1 Construction Inc., in Odessa where he worked in oil field construction.  In 1994 he left A-1 to go back to Central Freight Lines and worked until his retirement in 2003.  The couple loved to travel especially to Colorado and had the opportunity to travel Europe.Nard served as a 32nd degree mason and was a member of Kermit Lodge 1258 he was very involved with the Shriner’s and the Scottish Rites Children’s Hospitals.He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Lohma Fay Dittmar; and his brother, Col. Laurin HoodSURVIVORS:Wife, Gloria Hood of Amarillo; his son Kenneth Davis and wife Anna of Maysville, GA;Sister; Margarie Hood Seacholtz of Cord, AR; and four granddaughters.Nard is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and precious friends.
