Barbara Aline Lantz Gray, 84, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother went home to the Lord on Wednesday, March 12 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born to Wilma and Wilbur Lantz on March 2, 1941 in Omaha, Nebraska

A Prayer Vigil will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 6 pm at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 10 am at St. Mary's Cathedral, 1200 N. Washington, with Reverend Anthony Neusch presiding. Inurnment will follow at 1 pm at Llano Cemetery.

In 1964, she moved to Amarillo to study X-Ray Technology and while working as a tech at St. Anthony’s Hospital met Jackie Gray, whom she married on June 11, 1966. Barbara worked for many years as the Director of Radiology at Amarillo Diagnostic and later retired from Amarillo College after twenty-one years as the Clinical Representative for Radiography and Nuclear Medicine.

Barbara lived a life of unwavering faith, with a constant spirit of prayer, and a deep love for God and her family. She belonged to St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was an active member of the Seven Sorrows Rosary group.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Lance Eugene Gray; husband, Jackie Eugene Gray; and sister, Mary Jo Rocca. Barbara is survived by her brother, Marty and wife Peggy Lantz; sister, Cathy and husband Dan Hogan; brother-in-law, James (Jim) Peter Rocca; son, Jeff and wife Lisa Gray; son, Joe and wife Jennifer Gray; grandson Nathan and wife Chloe Gray; grandson, Taylor and wife Cristina Gray; grandson, Daniel Gray; grandson, Jackson Stone; granddaughter, Nicole Gray; and two great-grandsons, Leo and Carlo Gray, who will all carry forward the love and wisdom Barbara shared throughout her life.

In lieu of flowers, Barbara requested that remembrances be made to the General Fund at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Amarillo, Texas.

Though Barbara “GG” may be gone, the love, laughter, and memories shared will remain with us always.
