Barbara Jean Roberts

Barbara Jean Roberts passed away August 27, 2021 at Brookdale Senior Living in Amarillo Texas.

She was born October 25, 1943 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to the late John C and Geraldine Miller.

Barbara graduated from Centralia Missouri High School in 1961.  After graduation she went to work for A.B. Chance Company as a key punch operator.  During that time she met Marion Richard (Rick) Roberts,  They were married November 25, 1965.  After moving to Texas with Rick’s job at Panhandle Eastern Pipeline, she worked for several banks as a customer service representative.

After Rick's retirement they moved back to Columbia, Missouri where she worked for Boone County National Bank for 18 years.  While there she held different positions but most notably she was the switchboard operator and “was loved by all”.

After some health issues, Barbara and Rick moved to Amarillo, Texas to be closer to their daughter Michelle.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Michelle Rae Roberts, a sister Beverly Miller Ridgway and a brother Martin McGee.

She is survived by her husband Rick of Centralia,Missouri; sister Pat Austene of Hallsville, Missouri; sister-in-law Linda McGee of Covington, Louisiana; niece Kelly Raines of Big Spring, Texas; nephews Benjamin Austene of Hallsville Missouri; Patrick McGee of New Orleans, Louisiana; Kevin McGee of Springfield, Illinois and Jonathan Miller of Las Vegas, Nevada.
