Bennie Joe Cupell, 88, of Amarillo, passed away Friday, November 11, 2016 in Amarillo.
A Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3402 Jackson, with Rev. Marty Hamrick as officiant. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Bennie was born on February 3, 1928 in Canyon to Bennie Lee and Frances Mae Cupell. He married Lois Curb in Trinity United Methodist Church on February 10, 1951. Bennie was active in the community as a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a Boy Scout leader, a volunteer and foreman for the Christmas in April projects, Meals on Wheels for over thirty years, and later at The Canyons Retirement Center. He retired as a foreman from Maywood in 1989. Bennie was an avid gardener and loved his yard.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois on September 29, 2008; and four sisters.
Bennie is survived by two sons, Alan Cupell of Canyon and Claude Cupell and wife, Shannon of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Christopher Cupell of Atlanta, GA, Shelbi Adams and husband, Kerry of Amarillo, Austin Cupell and fiancé, Katie Cook of OKC, Logan Cupell and wife, Brae of Amarillo and Nicholas Cupell and wife, Erica of Beaverton, OR; and two great grandchildren, Sterling and Brooklyn Adams.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 PM Monday at the funeral home.
