Bettie Lou Strueber, 83, of Amarillo, died Thursday, April 6, 2017.
Graveside Services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 10, 2017 at Llano Cemetery with Rev. Corky Holland as officiant.
Bettie was born May 21, 1933 to Eugene and Kathryn Simpson. She graduated from Amarillo High in 1952 and married Mike Strueber on December 27, 1953. She was a homemaker and while her children were in school she was president of the Lamar Elementary PTA. Later she worked as a secretary for AISD in the Administration office. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. Bettie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to anyone she met.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.
Bettie is survived by her daughters, Brenda Bogue and husband, David of Las Vegas, NV and Kim Ewing and husband, Greg of Panhandle; and her grandchildren, Hunter Sims and wife, Jessica, Chad Ewing, Coleton Sims, Matt Ewing and wife, Laura and Addisen Tarver and husband, Matt.
The family suggest memorials be made to BSA Hospice of the Southwest, 5211 SW 9th Ave Ste 100, Amarillo, TX 79106.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 Sunday at the funeral home.
