Betty Jo Foley, age 80, of Amarillo died November 8, 2012.
The family will receive guests on Sunday from 2-4:00 PM at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be Monday, November 12 at 2:00 PM at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Darrell Burton officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
She was born November 23, 1931 in Clarendon, TX to Joe and Maude Lamb. She was married to Vernie H. Adkisson from 1947 to 1967. She later married Jack M. Foley in March of 1975. She worked for many years in restaurants as a waitress/hostess and also worked in retail sales in Amarillo.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend throughout her 80 years. She was loved by everyone who knew her, and she was always so optimistic about life and living. She will be missed very much by all who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant daughter, Brenda Lee Adkisson; one infant granddaughter, Kelley Renee Wilson; husband Jack Foley; and a sister, Frances Lamb.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Vernice A. Wilson and husband Robert; granddaughter, Angela Wilson-Ellis, husband Andy, and great-grandson, Owen Robert Ellis, all of Hewitt, TX; a sister, Dorothy Jurkat; a niece Caren Ogg and husband Jim of Amarillo; other extended family, as well as many friends at Vivian’s Nursing Home in Amarillo.
