Betty Mae Johnson-Haynie

Betty Mae Johnson Haynie, age 90, of Amarillo, died Monday, December 1, 2014.

Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Llano Cemetery with Mr. Dick Marcear officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.

Betty was born October 30, 1924 in Lawton, OK to Owen and Addie May Tolliver. Betty attended Forest Avenue High School in Dallas. She was the salutatorian of her graduating class. She attended college at SMU in Dallas. She worked for the State Department in Iran, Bangkok, Thailand; Karachi, Pakistan, and then returned to Washington, DC. She retired and moved to Titusville, Florida. She married Floid Haynie in Dallas. Betty loved to travel. She has traveled all over the world. Betty loved to read autobiographies and good mysteries. She was a previous member of North Brevard Church of Christ in Titusville. She was a member of the Church of Christ at the Colonies.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Floid Haynie in 2006 and her sisters Ola Edwina Slade and Mary Pearl Davis.

She is survived by one sister, Jeanette Echols of Dover, DE.

The family requests memorials are sent to the Building Fund at the Church of Christ at the Colonies, 4500 Wesley Dr., Amarillo.
