She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1956 and Amarillo College in 1983. She married Duane Lintner on July 17, 1956. For the next 20 years Betty lived from Washington State to Washington D.C. and places in between, as the devoted wife of an Air Force soldier. Upon her husband’s retirement from the military, her family returned to Amarillo in 1976. For the next 16 years she worked in the accounting and banking industry, specializing in real estate loans. She retired in 1992. Betty was a fabulous seamstress who could sew beautiful clothing and a cook without peer. She could make spam taste like a T-bone steak. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, a faithful Texas Ranger fan, a Precinct chairman for the Randall County Republican Party, President of the Amarillo Republican Women’s organization, and a Rush Limbaugh “ditto head”. After retiring, she worked as a HOST Mentor for Palo Duro High School and worked as a substitute teacher. She loved to dance and had an angelic singing voice. She loved to listen to all music like Elvis, the Eagles, Earth-Wind -and Fire, and Praise music at church. Her family was her whole life. Above all, was her love for her church, reading the Bible, praising God’s Name, and professing her faith to those around her. The Olive Garden and the Plaza were her Favorite restaurants, and cookies and sweets were her only vices. She loved to travel, especially to see her grandkids, and dreamed of going to Israel. Her only indulgence in life was her favorite room service when she was away with dad on a trip.Survivors include her husband, Duane Lintner; a son Bryan Lintner and wife Denisa of Amarillo; a daughter Brenda Scott and husband Rodney of Jackson Mississippi; brothers, Sonny Stovall of Shamrock and Jim Stovall of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Haley and Landon Lintner, Hunter, Jackson, Harrison, and John-David Scott , and many, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family suggests memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society, 3915 Bell, Amarillo, TX, 79109.
