Betty Carroll Tarbet, 76, of Amarillo, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017 in Amarillo.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, July 17, 2017 at The Church of Christ at the Colonies, 4500 Wesley Rd., with Dick Marcear officiating. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Betty was born on August 20, 1940 in Dennison, Texas to J. Paul and Mildred Wilson. She married Dale Tarbet on June 3, 1959 in Amarillo. She taught at Sunrise Elementary and River Road ISD for over 30 years. Betty was unselfish and always making sure everyone took care of their family first. She was considered the best second mom to many. She remembered each person by name. She was involved with Snack Pack for kids, Olivia’s Angels and Meals on Wheels to name a few. Betty was a member of the Church of Christ at the Colonies.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Noel Wilson.
Betty was survived by her husband, James Dale Tarbet of Amarillo; one daughter, Stacy Johnson and husband Wayne, of Kress; two sons, Paul Tarbet and wife Marilyn, and Will Tarbet and wife Waynette; two sisters, Paula Bowers and husband Pat, and Charlotte Brown and husband Bob, all of Amarillo; and Ninny to five grandchildren, Wes, April, Tyler, Trevor, and Savannah; and three great-grandchildren, Maelee, Layla, and Lincoln.
Memorials may be made to The Church of Christ at the Colonies.
A visitation will be held from 3:00 - 4:00 PM Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the funeral home.
