Betty "Jo" Ann Landrum

Betty "Jo" Ann Landrum, age 88, of Amarillo died on December 24, 2022 in Amarillo, Texas.

Visitation will be on Friday December 30, 2022 at 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM at Hartley Christian Fellowship in Hartley, Texas.  The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM at Hartley Christian Fellowship.  Interment will follow at Hartley Cemetery.

Jo Ann was born on June 3, 1934 to Sam and Myra Dunn in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. She was tough and came from a modest upbringing. Betty married the love of her life Howard Landrum in 1957 in Plainview, TX. Together they raised four children. She moved to Dallas in 1981, it was in 1984 when she moved back to Amarillo.

She worked part time for Multiple Sclerosis Society. Jo loved to dance, play pool, complete puzzles and read. Adding to the things she enjoyed, she also ran a burger stand in Hartley.  She had a great love for people, especially her family. She was a huge participant in her grandchildren’s lives. She went by many different names such as ”Mom”, “Granny”, “Momma Jo”, “Granny Jo”, “Gammaw”, “Jo”, and “Josephine”.

Betty is proceeded in death by her husband; parents; one son, Howard Burney II “Steve”; grandchildren, Josiah Shimon and Jeremiah Shimon; eight siblings, Chuck Dunn, Rene Hill, Peggy White, Joe Dunn, Patsy Dunn, Gene Dunn, Buster Dunn and Johnny Dunn.

She is survived by her three daughters, Brenda Ford and husband Keith of Earth, Myra Albright and husband David of Omaha and B’Lou Shimon and husband Mike of Dalhart; five grandchildren, Jerri Albright Borges, Nathaniel Albright, Jediah Shimon, McKenna Parchman, Eden Shimon; six great-grandchildren, Griffey Borges, Mela Borges, Gabe Albright, Ari Albright, Eli Albright and Olivia Parchman.

In Lieu of Flowers the family request donations be made to the War Memorial or Multiple Sclerosis Society.
