Billie was born in 1924 in Bartlett, TX she moved with her parents, Sam and Margaret Pruett to Littlefield, TX where she grew up. After high school she enrolled in Texas Tech and was the 1942 Doubles Tennis Champion. She married Willie R. Bradley on August 22, 19432. They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary shortly before his death on September 6, 1999.A resident of Amarillo since 1949 she was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where she has been active in the Millennium Sunday School Class. A lifetime homemaker she served the community as a volunteer for the Girl Scouts, St. Anthony’s Hospital. PTA and Engineers Wives.Billie loved to play bridge and belonged to the same bridge club for more than 50 years. Her great grandchildren fondly called her “Maw Maw Sunshine” because she loved to hold them and sing “You are My Sunshine”. Our mother was a ray of sunshine to everyone she met. She always greeted everyone with a smile and a kind word. We are deeply blessed to have had her as our Mom, Maw Maw and Maw Maw Sunshine.Billie was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is lovingly survived by her two daughters, Sammye Willis and her husband Bill of Houston and Bettye Bradley of New York City, NY; three grandchildren, Kristy Ricker and her husband Dan of Cleburne, TX, Carrie Hajovsky and her husband Chris of Houston and William Bradley Willis of Spring, TX; and seven great grandchildren.
