Billie Collier

November 26, 1934 — February 22, 2018

Billie Collier, 83, of Amarillo, Texas died on Thursday, February 22, 2018.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.

Billie was born November 26, 1934 in Rosebud, Texas to Aubry and Louise Collier.   Billie worked several years for the Medina Plant in San Antonio before relocating to Amarillo and going to work at the Pantex Plant where he retired from after nearly 30 years.  He married Anita Collins in 1979 in Amarillo and they would have celebrated 39 years of marriage on March 16th.

Sports were always part of Bill's life, from a football player in high school to playing baseball in the Minor Leagues.  Bill became an avid golfer and after retiring worked at the Ross Rogers golf course to be able to pursue a sport he excelled at.  He was also a big Dallas Cowboy fan, and his family will always remember his enthusiasm when watching the cowboy games.  He also enjoyed watching the Texas Ranger baseball games.  Another thing Bill excelled at was being a Grandpa... he was one of the best.  His grandchildren have many special memories of their time spent with Mimi and their Grandpa.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Denny Collier.

He is surived by his wife of 38 years, Anita;  2 sons, Clay Collier and wife Leslie of Amarillo, and Don Collier of San Antonio; 2 daughters, Brenda Davis and husband Kelly of Amarillo, and Diana Eastepp and husband Leonard of Amarillo; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
