Billy C. Day, age 92, entered the gates of heaven on September 20, 2023.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, September 24, 2023, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023, at Paramount Baptist Church, 3801 S. Western St., with Pastor Lance Herrington presiding. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum.
Bill was born in Anson, Texas, on December 18, 1930, to Raymond Franklin and Claudia Ophelia (White) Day. He graduated from Anson High School and would complete his education with a Business Degree from McMurry College. From 1952 to 1954, Bill proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. On June 21, 1954, he married his beloved Alma Bullock in Abilene, Texas, and the two set off on life’s greatest journey as husband and wife. Together, they built a family and remained devoted to each other until Alma’s passing.
Bill and his family moved from Abilene in 1968. Aside from the work he loved of selling pianos and organs, Bill loved to fish and play golf. After 92 years and being the last surviving member of his immediate family, he always joked that his obituary would read, “Preceded in death by pretty much everybody, “and he was right.
Bill is survived by his son David Day, daughter Kay Day, four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
