Billy Joe Evans, age 84 of Amarillo died February 9, 2016 in Amarillo
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 12th at 2:00 PM at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel. William Casper will officiate. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Billy entered this life on February 12, 1931 in Wellington, Texas to his parents Charles Alfred and Ethel Mae.
He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He married Wanda Lou Stayton on April 5, 1956 in Hereford.
Until his health prevented him, Billy was actively involved in his Seventh Day Adventist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Bobbie Lou Clark; a brother Burnia Riley and a granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Elliott.
Billy is survived by his wife of fifty nine years, Wanda of Amarillo; his daughter, Lorinda Gayle Elliott and her husband Norman of Lugoff, South Carolina; his two sons, Wayne Evans and his wife Dora and Larry Evans and his wife Susan all of Amarillo; his two brothers, Roy Evans and his wife Christine of Hereford and Weldon Riley of Canyon; by his six grandchildren and his eight great-grandchildren.
