Billy Vernon Housley

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 3, 2014 in First Baptist Church of Groom with Pastor Andy Dietz and Mr. Sam Line officiating. Interment will be in Groom Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Mr. Housley was born October 21, 1936 to Ernest and Lorene Housley in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He married the love of his life, Betty, June 2, 1982. Bill worked for San Bernarn Electric Coop for 34 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Groom, Lion’s Club, Rotary Club and proudly served our country in the United States Army. He owned a farm and produced wheat, corn, milo, cotton, sunflowers, and other grains. He loved golf and hunting and especially loved being with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Theresa Gann and Carolyn Orr.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, his children, Todd Housley and Teri Housley, both of Austin, Steve and Debbie Anthony of Roscoe, TX, Dale and Carolyn Brooks of Groom, TX, Jeff and Deanna Holtkamp of Seguin, TX, and Donna Edwards of Bellville, TX. His grandchildren, Nicholas and wife Shannon Anthony, Neal and wife Jessica Anthony, Natalie Anthony, Ross Brooks and wife Kim, Kristen Brooks, Clayton Holtkamp, Carter Holtkamp, Dakota Slovak, Dawnielle Slovak, and Cash Edwards. Five great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, his sister Vivian Ballard of White Deer.
