Bobby was born in Greenville, Texas on April 12, 1938. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1956. He attended seminary at the Missionary Baptist Seminary in Little Rock, Arkansas, and later graduated from WTSU with an education degree. He met Wanda Lee Turner in Arkansas, and they married on July 2, 1963. He retired from AISD and continued substitute teaching until a few months ago.
Bobby met the Lord as a child during Vacation Bible School. From that time forward, he devoted his life to telling others about Jesus. He pastored churches, taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, AWANA, Child Evangelism Fellowship Good News Clubs, Vacation Bible Schools, and the Neighborhood Church at Second Baptist Church. He continued to share the love of Christ with others even in his hospice room.
Bobby loved spending time with his five granddaughters. He enjoyed attending athletic events, choir concerts, awards ceremonies, or anything else they were involved in. He always had a new game, joke, or brain teaser to share with them at his house. Visits often included Dr. Pepper and chocolate. We will all miss his kindness, humor, laugh, and his immense love for us and for the Lord.
He is preceded in death by his parents, A.K. and Lucille Terrell. He is survived by his wife Wanda Terrell, his son Steve Terrell and wife Carolyn, his daughter Lisa Goen and husband John, his five granddaughters Sara and Kati Goen, Kathryn, Abbie, and Susanna Terrell, his sister Darlene Boykin and husband Chuck, his brother Kenneth and wife Donna, and many brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank the staff at BSA, BSA Home Health Care, and BSA Hospice for their loving care for Bobby during his battle with pancreatic cancer.
