Bobby Gene (Bob) Weis, beloved father, brother and grandfather, passed away Thursday November 25, 2021.

He was born May 9, 1936 to Emma Kathryn Appel Weis and Willie C. (Bill) Weis in Friona Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, both sets of grandparents, many aunts, uncles and cousins; first wife Phyllis Jolene Weis, second wife Lou McAdoo Weis and grandson Rance Spade. He is survived by:  daughter Suzanne Weis, Sister Nadine Renteria and husband Frank, brothers Byron and Gary Weis. Nieces:  Jennifer Hughes, Amy Heard and husband David, Lesley Stout and husband Bryan.  Great nieces/nephews:  Jonathan Hughes, Amber Williams, Jackson Steen, Byron Henry Stout, Kylan Stout, April and Andrew Blackwell. Great grandnieces/grandnephews: Melody Blackwell, Allie Williams. Stepdaughter Debbie Spade, her children Shonda Ford and husband Matt and their son Taryn; Donnelle Brown and husband Casey and children Cypruss and Sterling; Nicole Spade and Fiance Bart Swistak; Ashley Spade and husband Rance (deceased), sons Cason and Weston.

Bob was born and raised in Friona with his brother Byron. The family moved to Booker, TX where they farmed for several years, brother Gary was born in 1953. In 1956 the family moved to Amarillo, TX where sister Nadine was born. In 1958 Bob was drafted into the US Army and discharged in 1960. In late 1961, Bob was recalled to the Army due to the Cuban Missle Crisis. He served 10 months and was discharged in 1962 and returned home to Amarillo. Bob and his father worked for Leon Cox Trucking. Bob remained there until 1964 when he went to Welding Equipment and Supply Company (WESCO).  While working at WESCO, he met Jolene and they were later married in 1967. In 1969, Jolene gave birth to daughter Suzanne. In 1972, the family moved to the Brock family farm to help Jolene’s parents work their farm. In 1976, the family moved to Canadian, Tx where Bob worked for the Canadian COOP and Jolene worked for the local school admin office.  In 1984, the family then moved to Higgins, Tx where Bob started his custom hay bailing company, Weis Agri Services. Jolene passed away in 1988 and was buried in the cemetry in Higgins. Bob met Lou McAdoo in 1989 at Perk’s in Higgins. They were married in late 1989. Bob and Lou moved to Pickton, Tx in 1996 to be closer to Lou’s daughter and her family.  Bob worked at the local John Deere dealership for 3 years and retired in 1999.  In 1999, Lou sadly passed away. Bob moved back to Amarillo in 2000 to live with his brothers.  Bob fought many medical issues in the years leading up to 2019 when he became a resident of the VA Community Living Center. Bob passed away at 6:30am Thanksgiving Day 2021.

Bob now rests in the arms of the Lord where he is surrounded by family and friends. Amen.
