Boyce Cairns

William Boyce Cairns, 71, of Amarillo died February 14, 2022.

Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 18, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church, 1100 S. Harrison St. Interment will be private in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.

Boyce was born October 3, 1950 in Amarillo, TX to Bob and Barbara Cairns. He graduated from Tascosa High School in 1969 where he started the Tascosa Rodeo Club. He then attended the University of Oklahoma and was a member and alumni of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Boyce was an avid OU fan and loved his Labradors first and foremost. He enjoyed bird hunting and was a Field Trial Trainer winning several National Awards with the NFRA (National Field Retriever Association). He was a longtime gun collector and a member of the NRA (National Rifle Association). Boyce was President/Owner of The Cairns Company and was also a member of AA since January 7, 1984. He was much loved and adored by his family.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane (Mud) Cairns of March 21, 2017; his parents; and brother in law, Jimmy Albracht.

Boyce is survived by his four Labrador furbabies, which he referred to as his “kids”, Boomer, Sooner, Sissy and Muddy; sister, Julie Albracht of Canyon and her daughter, Ashley Pena and husband, Brian and their children, Krissy Pena, Kaden Arenas, Jaxen Pena, Jace Pena, and Jonas Pena; brother, Steve Cairns and wife, Paula of Boerne and their children, Jennifer Smith and her two children, Ana and Bennett, their son, Ben Cairns and his two children, Averie and Hailey, and their son Mike Cairns.

The family suggests memorials be made to Amarillo ASPCA, 11901 S. Coulter St., Amarillo, TX 79119 or American Cancer Society, 3915 Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
