BRIDGET “DOLLY” BRENNAN BRANDS, age 97 of Amarillo, Texas died January 15th in Amarillo.
ROSARY will be said on Friday, January 17th at 7:00 PM at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel.
FUNERAL MASS will be on Saturday at January 18th at 10:00 AM at St. Hyacinth’s Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Rev. John Dalton. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Dolly was born December 17, 1916 in Aghort the Glen, County Kerry, Ireland to Michael and Norah Brennan.
She graduated from nursing school from Southend Municipals Hospital in Rochford, England in 1948. She journeyed to America soon after to join some of her siblings. Dolly married Bernard Carl Brands on April 29, 1950 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Dolly worked as a Registered Nurse at Northwest Texas Hospital for over thirty years where she worked nights until her retirement. She was devoted to her family and loved them dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband on April 1, 1990.
She is survived by her daughters, Colleen Brands and Kathleen McCain both of Amarillo and by her son Michael Brands of Houston and by her devoted nurse and honorary daughter, Deloris Shaheed of Amarillo.
The family suggests that memorials be made to St. Hyacinth’s Catholic Church Building Fund, 4500 West Hills Trail, Amarillo, Texas 79106.
