Bruce Clough Pruitt, age 77 of Amarillo died July 21 in Amarillo.
No services are scheduled at this time.
Bruce was born December 4, 1944 in Knox City, Texas to his parents John Paul and Hazel Clough Pruitt. He attended school in Munday, Texas and excelled at football and went on to play college ball. He then served in the US Marines.
Bruce was a hard working roughneck for many years. He was generous towards all and would give the shirt off his back to help others in need. For over forty-three years, he cared and supported the love of his life Judy, who preceded him in death in 2009. His love for his grandkids was evident as he was always available to pick up from school every day for years. As a typical grandpa, he was a push over for his granddaughter who ruled the house until her mom would come home. He got in more hours of “Dance Moms” than most Papa’s would see fit.
In his later years, he worked for AISD until he decided it was time to retire.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his love Judy, and by two brothers, John and Glenn Robert Pruitt.
He is survived by his son, Jeremy Alexander and his wife Katerina of Amarillo and by three grandchildren, Jentry and Jordan Alexander and Dillion Pritchard.
