Bruce Powell Sadler went to be with the Lord on the 4th day of December, 2020. He was born on September 12, 1946 in Charleston, South Carolina to Dr. Charles B. and Bernice L. Sadler. He married Mary Anne “Molly” McCrory on August 11, 1973.
Bruce graduated from Amarillo High School in 1964. He received his Associates of Arts degree from Amarillo College, a Bachelor of Arts degree from SMU and in 1972 received his Doctor degree from SMU’s School of Law. He spent most of his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney, and later First Assistant District Attorney in the District Attorney’s Office for the 47th Judicial District. He retired in 2013.
During his retirement he enjoyed reading, playing ping pong at the Amarillo Senior Citizens Association, trips to see his grandchildren, playing Maj Jongg with Molly and celebrationing special occasions with his family and extended family.
He is survived by his wife, Molly, his daughter, Claire Sadler of Amarillo, his daughter, Lynn Edmundson (Matt) of Cedar Park, Texas, his granddaughter, Grace Edmundson and grandson, Reed Edmundson of Cedar Park, Texas, his sister, Janine Mallett (Doyce) of Amarillo, Texas, his brother, Don Sadler (Ada) of San Francisco, California, his nieces, Sheila Kenney (Jerred) of Amarillo, Texas, Elise Williams of Amarillo, Texas and Leslie Elford (Mike) of Cedar Park, Texas and numerous great nephews and nieces.
Bruce attended Hillside Christian Church and was a member of Amarillo Downtown Kiwanis Club, the Amarillo Senior Citizens Association and the Texas State Bar Association.
The family request that any memorials be made to Sharing Hope Ministry or No Boundaries International Amarillo.
