Amarillo

Bryan Mark Quirk, 58, of Amarillo passed away peacefully on November 11, 2021.

A vigil service will be at 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 15, 2021 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 4100 Coulter. A memorial mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.

Bryan was born July 23, 1963 in Amarillo, Texas to Jack and Antoinette “Toni” Quirk. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1981 and West Texas State University in 1986.  Following graduation, he started a lengthy 34 year career with State Farm Insurance.

Bryan was a multifaceted and talented man.  His hobbies included softball in his younger years and where he met Dena, his wife of 23 years.  He loved being outdoors and truly appreciated the beauty of nature.  He loved fishing and hunting and those times were made even better by having his family alongside him on those adventures.

To say that patience was one of his virtues, was an understatement.  He was a very patient teacher whether he was untangling a fishing line, assisting with math homework, or assisting a co-worker, he could understand why things would work and more importantly, why they would not work. He was a problem solver and people were drawn to him.

Bryan had a servant's heart. He not only devoted himself but thoroughly enjoyed serving as an usher and Eucharistic Minister at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.  He was genuine and an encouraging co-worker, leader, friend, Dad and husband to the end. He did have a bit of an ornery side though and derived great pleasure in giving family and friends a hard time.

Bryan is preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, David Anthony; and brother, Jack Michael, Jr.

He is survived by wife, Dena; his son, Brady; his daughter, Halee; his sister, Julie Quirk Wright and husband, Terry; his nephews, Jack Michael Quirk III(Erica), Chris Quirk(Beth) and Cameron Wright (Sarah); his nieces Nicole Quirk Reeve (Jody) and Jessica Wright; and several other nieces and nephews.
