C. David Culver

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 28 at Polk Street United Methodist Church.  Rev. Kevin Deckard, will officiate. Private burial will be held at Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Mr. Culver was born July 27, 1935 in Hobbs, New Mexico to Charles and Cleo Powers Culver.  The family moved to Tyler, Texas where David grew up and graduated from Tyler High School.  He graduated from The University of Texas and pursued a career as a petroleum engineer serving as past President and CEO of Pioneer Natural Gas.  Mr. Culver was also very involved in his community, serving on many boards and foundations.  He enjoyed skiing and scuba diving, and he especially loved spending time with his family and friends.  He was a longtime member of Polk Street United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Elaine.
Survivors include his wife, Janice; a daughter, Cathy Musslewhite and husband, Jim of Denver; two sons, Chris Miller and wife, Bridget of La Quinta, CA and Jeff Miller of Nashville, TN; a sister, Edwina McCaig and husband, Bob of Dallas; and a brother, Jim Culver and wife, Donna, of Tyler; three grandchildren, Elaine and Aidan Musslewhite, and Ethan Miller.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday, November 27 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to YMCA Scholarship Fund, 4101 Hillside, Amarillo, TX 79110; Polk Street United Methodist Church, 1401 S. Polk, Amarillo, TX 79101; or ACE Scholarship Fund c/o Amarillo Area Foundation, 801 S. Fillmore, Suite 700, Amarillo, TX 79101.
