Carol Lou Vincent

Carol Lou Vincent, formerly of Pampa, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2013 in Claude.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, July 9th in the Claude Cemetery in Claude, Texas.  Pastor Mike Watson will officiate.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia in Amarillo.

Carol was born November 5, 1956, in Pampa, Texas to Edward and
Juanita Vincent of Lefors. Carol was raised on the ranch south of Lefors where she
loved helping work cattle and raising some of the best quarter horses in the
Panhandle.

Carol graduated from Lefors High School and was a very talented athlete,
specializing in basketball and track. She continued her basketball career, playing
two years for Clarendon Junior College. Her fondest memories were playing for
Coach Allene Stovall as a member of the lady Buff basketball team of WTAMU.
She played for two years for Coach Stovall while she completed her college
degree at WT. Carol went on to become a teacher and coach at Hartley, Miami,
and Lefors where she was able to teach strong fundamentals of basketball and
track to many young athletes.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, TSTA, and the American Quarter Horse Association.

Carol loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Carol is survived by
three sisters: Shirley and husband Keith Fields of Groom, Ann and husband Nick
Hines of Pampa, and Lea and husband Bruce Ferguson of Claude. She is also
survived by many nieces and nephews who loved to see Aunt Carol. She was
preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Juanita Vincent.

The family suggests that memorials be made to the Palo Duro Nursing Home Activity Fund, 405 S. Collins, Claude, TX  79019; the Ronald McDonald House, 1501 Streit Drive Amarillo, Texas 79106; or a favorite charity.
