Carolyn Ann Layton passed Tuesday, February 21, 2012.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 27th at 10:00 AM at Yaksich-Long Funeral Home in Raton, New Mexico. Burial will be in the Maxwell Cemetery in Maxwell, New Mexico. Local arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Carolyn was born October 15, 1958, in Raton, New Mexico, to John and Rowena Layton.
She had a fulfilling career as a registered nurse and served as a charge nurse at Integrated Health Services. Carolyn was an amazing caregiver, dedicated to her patients with love, caring, and support. She was a very loving mother, sister, aunt, and “Nanna” who was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her brother John Layton.
She is survived by one daughter, Crissey Canida and husband Jason of Denton; a son, David Bruce, of Wichita, KS; her parents, Rowena and John Layton of Raton; grandchildren, Devon, Zac, and Cassey; three brothers, Harold, Mike, and Rodney Layton of Clearwater, KS: a sister, Lucy Clingermen of Raton; seven nieces and nephews; and six great nieces and nephews; and many other loving family members.
