Carolyn Jean Tefertiller

Carolyn Jean Tefertiller, 76, of Amarillo died May 23, 2022.

Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 3, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church Chapel, 1100 S. Harrison. Interment will be private in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.

Carolyn Jean Harper was born in Lubbock, Texas to Jefferson Gerome Harper Jr. and Lillie Gentry Harper on July 14, 1945. She was the middle child of three children. She grew up in Slaton, Texas and attended Slaton High School. After graduation, she attended Wayland University in Plainview, TX.

She married Cecil Duane Tefertiller on November 19, 1965. Together they had four children, two surviving infancy.

Carolyn devoted her life to caring for her family and fellow church members. She enjoyed providing meals for those who needed them and was well known for her brownies and baked treats. She had many talents. Her abilities included cooking, baking, sewing, canning, and helping her husband with his many activities.

She taught Sunday School at church for over 40 years. Loving babies and children, she volunteered to work in the nursery as well. She was committed to the happiness and welfare of her seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brothers Merideth Harper and Glen Harper, her daughter Karen Renee Tefertiller, a stillborn child, and her loving husband of 53 years, Cecil Duane Tefertiller.

She is survived by her loving daughters Yvonne Denise Tefertiller Ozark & husband Robert of North Richland Hills, TX and Sharissa Jean Tefertiller Gleason & husband Robert of Fort Worth,TX, seven grandchildren Greye, Maice, Andrew, Arianne, Vivian, Audrey and Sara, and many nieces and nephews.
