MEMORIAL SERVICES will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Baptist Church. Pastor Nate Maglaughlin and Dr. Carey Skinner will officiate. Private family interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Cecil was born on September 29, 1917 on a small farm just outside of Amarillo to Franklin and Ella Weatherly, the youngest of nine. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1938. While at Amarillo High he played football and was on the team that won consecutive State titles. He married Louise Mitchell in 1935. A master craftsman and woodworker, Cecil began his career at United Sash and Door Company before starting a partnership, Adams Weatherly Planing Mill. After the sale of his business he went to work for Maywood, where he worked for over seventeen years until retirement. During his retirement years he and Louise traveled the world until her health prevented them from going. She preceded him in death in 1998. Love would find him again when he met Ramona Wood and the two were married on May 7, 2000 in Amarillo. Cecil was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents, eight siblings and his first wife.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 7:30.
SURVIVORS:His wife, Ramona Weatherly of Amarillo; a daughter Carolyn Kollin and husband Ken of Hereford;
two sons, Jim Weatherly and wife Cindy of Houston and Kenneth Weatherly and wife Janie of Amarillo; seven Grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
