Charlene C. Brown, 67, of Amarillo died January 20, 2014.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 23, 2014 in Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church with Rev. Nancy S. Moore and Rev. Rob Blum officiating. Interment will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.

She will be well remembered and dearly missed by all that were blessed to know her. She was an incredibly positive influence on those she encountered and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed help.

Charlene was known for her quick wit and hearty laugh. All through her life, family and friends relied on her for sound advice wrapped up with a hug and a belief that everything would turn out well in the end.

She went to work for Bank Corp. in 1984 which was a computer software company.  Most recently she worked in customer support for HWA International located in Memphis, TN.

She had a passion for horses and was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association.  She was secretary of the Panhandle Golden Spread Quarter Horse Association for 25 years.  In addition, she and her husband Charles were very successful in competitions as well as training and breeding horses as owners of Charlie Brown Quarter Horses in Amarillo, TX.

Her greatest source of pride were her daughter Jacquie and son Kyle. Both were blessed with her sense of humor.

She was a member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church and loved the members and being part of the fellowship.

Survived by devoted husband of 31 years Charles Brown. Loving mother of Jacquie Marler of Queensland, Australia and Kyle Brown of Amarillo.  Sister Terrie Fregien (Dan), nieces Heidi, Jill and Julie Fregien of Milwaukee, WI. Brother-in-law Neely Brown of Amarillo, TX.

Family will receive friends from 6:30-7:30 PM, Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at the funeral home.
