Charles Lee Nash, age 83 of Amarillo died May 14, 2015 in Amarillo, Texas
A memorial service will be held at Paramount Baptist Church at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 18th. Dr. Gil Lain will officiate. A private family burial will be held at Llano Cemetery with Masonic and Military Honors. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Charles was born July 20, 1931 in Kingsmill, TX to Paul and Gladys Nash and was raised in White Deer. After high school he served in the US Army. Charles married the love of his life, Joan Parker on December 11, 1953 in Clovis, New Mexico.
Starting out with Western Electric, he worked in both Dallas and Amarillo for over 36 years before retiring from Southwestern Bell in 1990. He was a talented man that loved to tinker around the house. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trap shooting, and was a member of the Amarillo Gun Club.
Charles’ joy in life was his family. He treasured every moment spent with his loved ones. The couple even celebrated their fifty year wedding anniversary on a cruise with their children and grandchildren. He was a kind, loving father and grandfather, wanting only the best for his family.
He was a member of The Palo Duro Masonic Lodge and of Paramount Baptist Church where he enjoyed the Carl Jean Sunday School Class.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Anita Mae and by a brother Jimmy Nash.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Joan; two daughters Nicki Sanders and LeAnne Preshong both of Amarillo; his sister Eunice Buzzard of Pampa; by three grandchildren, Blake Sanders and his wife Jessica, Michelle Green and her husband Robert and Sara Pinson and her husband Tyler; and by many cousins especially , The Irwin - Beck family.
