Wallace was born May 1, 1932, in Claude to Charles William Stewart and Estelle Wallace Stewart.
Wallace proudly served his country as a Marine in Korea during the Korean War and in Japan. He was a Flight Engineer for World Airways, retiring after 30 years. During his employment with World Airways, he was involved in many humanitarian efforts, including serving on the last flight before the fall of Da Nang, flights carrying orphaned babies out of Vietnam, as well as military charters during Desert Storm. He loved aviation and world travel.
Wallace was a member of First Baptist Church in Claude, American Legion Harold Gist Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Marine Memorial and Claude School Alumni Association.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Faye Stewart.
Survivors include a daughter, Vivian Shirley and husband Charles; a daughter, Kathy Husband and husband Keith; a brother, Sam B. Stewart and wife Joanne; a siters, Nancy J. Stoddard and husband Don; a brother, Norman K. Stewart and wife Susan; three stepdaughters, Becky Boston, Amy Mosier and husband Randy and Emily Wieck and husband Mark; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their thanks to all the special staff at Ussery-Roan Texas State Veterans Home and Odyssey Hospice who took such good care of Wallace.
