Charles "Chuck" Galloway

August 11, 1930 — November 16, 2017

Charles “Chuck” Galloway, 87, of Amarillo, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017.

Memorial services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Cliffside Baptist Church, 8320 Cliffside Rd, with Pastor Corey Sams officiating.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S Georgia, Amarillo, Texas.

Our beloved husband and father, Charles “Chuck” Galloway passed away on November 16, 2017. He was born on August 11, 1930 in Plaska, Texas.   He survived the Dust Bowl in the Panhandle of Texas and was the “pet” of his family.  As a young man working to deliver butane to farmers in the country, he fell into a cistern full of snakes.  Once he was rescued he carried the nick names of Snake and Copperhead for years.  He made the bold move into computers in 1956 when he trained to be a computer programmer at Sam Houston Army Base in San Antonio. It was the beginning of a successful 36 year career in computer management and sales.  Chuck was at home on a golf course, ski run, water skis or a four wheel drive backroad.  But his best times were anything done with his family.  Somewhere in heaven, Dad is on his riding lawnmower, keeping the golf greens trimmed.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Hope; his daughter, Sheri and son-in-law, Ivan, his son, Marc and daughter-in-law, Ellen; his grandchildren John, Dayna, Jimmie and Emily; his great grandchildren, Collin and Julia.  He is loved and remembered by numerous nieces and nephew, both Galloway and Chappell.  And there are too many friends to mention.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to DAWGSnTexas,

P. O. Box 911, Dalhart, TX 79022.
