Charley Robinson

Charley William Robinson, 83, died Friday, September 20, 2013 in Amarillo.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2013, in Brentwood Chapel at Schooler Funeral Home with Pastor Buzz Busby of Arena of Life Cowboy Church officiating.  Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.

Charley was born November 10, 1929 in Gould, Oklahoma to Loston and Emmie Robinson.  He attended school in Quail, Texas.

He married Freda Jo Harrison on June 2, 1951 in Wellington.  They were married until her passing in January of 2000.  Charley was a former cowboy, farmer, and rancher who worked and lived on the Currie Ranch.  He was passionate about his work and enjoyed every day to the fullest.  He was also a former fire fighter with the Amarillo Fire Department.

Charley was a kind, loving man who enjoyed his children and grandchildren.  He was loved by many who also knew him by his nicknames of C. W. and Dubb.

He was preceded in death by his wife; two brothers, Jess and Arthur Robinson; and a sister, Eunice Mathis.

Survivors include a son, Larry Robinson and wife, Carol of Amarillo; two daughters, Yvonda Sillivent and husband, Wayne and Janet Robinson, all of Amarillo; two brothers, Leroy Robinson of Amarillo and Cleo Robinson of Justin; three sisters, Mary Louise Lane of Lubbock, Olene Jett of Quail, and Shirley Brown of Amarillo; seven grandchildren, Nikki Fletcher, Jeremy and Jana Sillivent, Stacy and M’Kenzie Pipes, all of Amarillo, Kyle and Marita Pipes of Oakland Park, Kansas; six great-grandchildren, Emmalee and Henry Sillivent, Patrick, Malia, and Pecos Pipes, and Raegan Taylor.

Donations may be made to Randall County 4-H, 200 N. Brown Road, Canyon, TX 79015.

The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m., Monday, September 23 at the funeral home.
